Things have been hectic as of lately. I’m involved in Manchester based collective called Grrrl Club, which in the future will be putting on events in Manchester/London, mainly music based but hoping to involve exhibition spaces also to follow up with Woman Stanley plans.
At the moment we’ve been filming a few interviews (Maya Postepski (Austra), Carmen Elle (DIANA) and Vuvuvultures) and basically networking to start making future plans. I must say this has all happened within the past few weeks and I’m unsure as to whether this is real just yet. It’s been an interesting ride already, a lot of ups and downs but definitely experience I need to keep up with as I think this is all going to benefit in the long run.
Plans for a zine will be commencing next weekend also.
Tomorrow I’ll be producing prints to use for one of the interviews along with a couple of drawings I had done for another.
Also hoping to produce more Pussy Riot prints in the next couple of weeks.
#free pussy riot
For the lack of updates lately. I’ve been sorting things in life out and have not had much time to bead. Alas a neon yellow beanie arrived at my front door today in which means a new balaclava will appear soon.
There will be a meeting this weekend about organisation of the Woman Stanley exhibition for early 2014 so if anyone who see’s this is from the North West of England, female and would like to get involved creatively or otherwise let me know! There will be more meetings in future!
In other news, myself and Snew will be attending a talk by the curators of the LET’S START A PUSSY RIOT book on Friday in Manchester. The event is free so, again, for all in the region, come!
Omg if you ever sell your balaclavas put me down for one! :) they're awesome x
Amazing! Thank you so much! Once I have a good amount finished I’ll start selling for sure :) x
I would literally love to order one of your balaclavas if you ever want to sell one they are BEAUT and also sick
Thank you very, very, much!
I’ve been considering selling them for a while but not really had the guts I guess! Once the new pieces are finished I’ll see about setting up a little Etsy shop for sure!
Thank you again x
Support the demands made by Pussy Riot's Nadezhda Tolokonnikova in her declaration of hunger strike →
Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, a member of the punk band Pussy Riot who is currently imprisoned in Russia, has gone on hunger strike to protest poor conditions. She is being threatened with death or violence by the deputy chief of Correctional Colony 14 of the Republic of Mordovia Yu. V. Kupriyanov, as well as inmates of the colony. In a letter published on September 23rd, in addition to the threats, Nadezhda says that she and other inmates are forced to work sewing garments for 16-17 hours a day, in violation of the law
Read the letter, sign the petition.
